Services Available at this Facility
Due to the rigorous prerequisites of high throughput screening, miniaturizing and automating assays that were originally developed at the bench can be a daunting. Our service includes ensuring the HTS assay meets all the necessary qualitative requirements, for example Z’ factor calculation, assay window, DMSO tolerance, etc.
Our repertoire of cell-free assays includes enzymatic assays, fluorescence-based thermal shift analysis, fluorescent polarization binding assays, label-free binding assays, and coupled-enzyme assays. Most photometric outputs can be accommodated, and many alternate readouts can adapted to enable HTS.
NU-HTA has a fully functionalized cell culture facility and can perform both target based and phenotypic cell-based assays. Of particular strength is our 3D assay capabilities, due to the recent acquisition of a confocal high content imager.
The extensive expertise of the NU-HTA staff is available to any Northwestern researcher who may be exploring options or capabilities. The staff also collaborate with users on grant applications from both internal and external sources.
